Happy 4th of July!

We were supposed to be camping for the 4th of July, but Uncle Vic passed away, so Mom and Dad drove to Iowa instead. Robin and Dan were here from Washington, so we had to celebrate with a quick hike that Dan and Liam had done the day before. Mental note, when a man who runs 50 mile races for fun says that it's a short, easy hike - it's not easy for fat, lazy people. :)  I survived, but man! I'm out of shape.  We hiked up to Lake Mary (and for those of you that have been there, you now know how out of shape I really am - it's not a hard hike).  Funny story, we got up there and all traffic was totally stopped.  After about 15 minutes we learned that there was a parade.  We waited for the parade to finish and we were then allowed to be the end of the parade.  People who were still sitting there started throwing their candy into our car.  The kids got a kick out of that, and I was waving and yelling.  Jeramy finally had to roll up the window after getting pelted in the head one too many times.

The kids had a snowball fight, which was the highlight of the day for them.  Macie was the best hiker - until she fell down when we were almost back down to the car.  Beautiful way to spend the day.
The 4th wouldn't be the 4th without fireworks at Thanksgiving Point.  We almost didn't go, but the kids begged us to go, and it is tradition.
Lexi loved them!  She would "ooh and ahh" at all of them.  She also loved that she got to take her special soft pink blanket which usually doesn't get the leave the house.  For days after when she would hear fireworks, she'd beg to go out and watch them.
