Maddie has had quite the year! Seems like she's been involved in so many fun things. All the fifth graders were involved in the Hope of America program which was held down in Provo at the Marriot Center. For people like us who actually don't know our way around Provo, it was a bit stressful to say the least. BUT, it was fun to see all those kids make a flag! For about half of it we thought we were watching Maddie, then Shelby said, "I really don't think that's her." And I started to notice that the girl we thought was Maddie was squirming around a lot, and talking to the girl next to her. And then we knew we'd been watching the wrong kid. We finally found her! She's a white star. That's what threw us off...she had a blue shirt. They had her put a white one over it when she got there. Once we found her and noticed how perfectly still she was sitting and not talking to her neighbor - we knew we'd found the right kid!
She also got to help out for Dr Seuss night at school for student council. She absolutely loves not having to participate in the activities anymore. She loves being in charge of them. (A bit like her mother, eh?)
We also volunteered at the Thanksgiving Point half marathon.
It rained.
The whole time.
We were cold and wet.
We tried to leave early.
Got caught.
Stayed.
Crappy morning in the rain.
Yay for service.
